About the Role:

Leonardo UK Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to join our team in a brand new department focused on the development of cutting-edge Synthetics, Digital Products, and Services. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to take a leadership position in creating detailed designs and operations of the Synthetics capability required across the Electronics Division in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of Synthetics capabilities for the Electronics Division in the UK, working closely with stakeholders to understand the implications of design decisions.
  • Collaborate with other Digital Products and Services Systems Leads to develop this capability and prepare for future products as a team.
  • Support the development of relationships with synthetics providers and conduct assessments of potential capability providers and partners.
  • Lead the delivery of mature design reviews and ensure that complex designs are effectively communicated to diverse stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding and experience of tools, methodologies, and processes in the synthetics domain.
  • Proven experience of delivering synthetics-centric solutions under time pressure and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, with the ability to obtain SC or higher Clearance for UK-caveated programmes.
  • Degree, or equivalent level qualification in Systems, Software, Mathematics, or other relevant STEM-centric field.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of future direction of travel for synthetics-centric technologies.
  • Knowledge of current and/or maturing UK MOD policies and guidance on synthetics-related areas.
  • Experience of Agile working and requirements definition.

Working Arrangements:

This is a permanent position with hybrid working arrangements.
