About the Role

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Perinatal Matron to join our team. As a key member of our Perinatal Services team, you will play a crucial role in driving transformational change in healthcare and delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement operational workforce planning strategies to ensure adequate staffing levels and meet national commitments.
  • Develop and implement staff retention improvement action plans to identify and address local training opportunities and retention issues.
  • Implement the core competency framework to guide local mandatory training programs and ensure staff skills are relevant to their roles.
  • Ensure all perinatal staff have opportunities for continuous professional development through training needs assessments, planning, and evaluation.
  • Provide leadership and management expertise to promote teaching, training, and ongoing development of midwifery and nursing staff.
  • Ensure the non-registered workforce's personal, professional, and practice development is an active process within Perinatal Services.
