About Ixora Energy

As a subsidiary of ENGIE, Ixora Energy oversees several anaerobic digestion facilities across the South West. These plants generate eco-friendly energy for local communities and businesses. Our contributions to this industry include supporting innovative research and promoting advancements in sustainable practices.

Role Overview

Located in South Petherton, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Operations Management team and Plant Manager to ensure the smooth and effective operation of our Anaerobic Digestion facility during night hours. This position requires a commitment of 48 hours per week, following a four on four off shift pattern (6pm to 6am), including weekends. You will also provide holiday coverage for team members as needed. Your primary workplace will be our gas-to-grid facility, known for its commitment to sustainable energy generation. A valid driving license is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the SCADA system to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate effectively with on-call Plant Operators and the Plant Manager to ensure swift resolution of any disruptions, maintaining safe and professional plant operations.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to log and address maintenance tasks promptly.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs as needed.
  • Oversee weighbridge operations (training will be provided).
  • Document events in the company database to ensure accurate handover to day staff.
  • Prepare regular performance reports.
  • Exhibit flexibility in covering for colleagues during absences.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK driving license due to the plant's rural location.
  • Experience operating a similar control room system.
  • Capability to operate telehandlers, tractors, or forklifts (training available).
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in numerical, analytical, and diagnostic tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
