Role Overview

Located in South Petherton, this position involves supporting the Operations Management team and Plant Manager in ensuring the effective operation of our Anaerobic Digestion facility during night hours. This role requires a commitment of 48 hours per week, following a four on four off shift pattern (6pm to 6am), including weekends. Additionally, you will provide holiday cover for team members as needed. The position is based at our gas-to-grid facility, known for its Sustainable Energy Generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the SCADA system to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate with on-call Plant Operators and the Plant Manager to ensure prompt resolution of any problems, maintaining safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to log and address maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs as necessary.
  • Manage weighbridge operations (training will be provided).
  • Document events in the company database for accurate handover to day staff.
  • Prepare regular performance reports.
  • Exhibit flexibility to cover for colleagues during annual leave and other absences.

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid UK driving licence due to the rural location of the plant.
  • Experience operating a similar control room system.
  • Ability to operate telehandlers, tractors, or forklifts (training available).
  • Strong IT skills complemented by numerical, analytical, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
