Maintenance Supervisor

**Purpose**:
Responsible for supervising the site maintenance team, ensuring provision of both a reactive and proactive, multiskilled maintenance service for all operational equipment and facilities.
The role requires a hands-on maintenance supervisor that can lead by example, ensuring that maintenance is planned, scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining and further developing of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and will cooperate with the site management team to further develop a robust planned preventative maintenance regime ensuring the highest safety standards are maintained.
Improve site operational equipment effectiveness (OEE), implementing improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI), whilst ensuring all health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to.
Minimise plant and site reactive maintenance jobs by assisting with the co-ordination and hands-on support of planned maintenance activities in accordance with production and site requirements.
Ensure that all operations are mechanically resilient, such that production critical assets and components, which cannot be easily sourced, are available as spares and that these are appropriately stored on site.
Maintain and improve the plant and equipment at Rough Close Works in accordance with EPC-UK company standards ensuring down time is minimised whenever possible.
Ensure the maintenance team operate using technical best practice, updating maintenance procedures and risk assessments.
Will continually evaluate and improve equipment and processes, highlighting deficiencies and recommending appropriate changes.
**Principal Accountabilities**:
In cooperation with the site management team, the Maintenance Supervisor will assist with:
Scope, design, plan, cost and delivery of maintenance procedures and schedules for all EPC-UK Rough Close Works activities.
Effectively delegate maintenance tasks to team members who have the right skills, ensuring that the tasks are completed as planned.
Provide technical expertise and advice to your team.
Ensure adherence to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) checks to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the site.
Further develop the PPM schedule, to ensure all preventative maintenance checks are carried out, and arrange for necessary remedial works.
Schedule both internal and external work(s) maximising the use of planned down time and reducing unplanned downtime.
Optimise equipment according to standard procedure, enhancing performance and product quality, ensuring the achievement of all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
Ensure that all operations are mechanically resilient, such that all production critical assets and components, which cannot be easily sourced, remain available as spares on site.
Responsible for day-to-day upkeep of the site asset register.
Ensure that all mechanical equipment used on site complies to required industry standards.
Assist with updating the site’s asset integrity procedures and written schemes of examination etc.
Supervise / carryout the inspection and maintenance of all plant equipment to ensure that it operates safely and efficiently, ensuring that these activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant industry standards i.e., EEMUA 159.
Assess the performance of the mechanical equipment monthly and identify opportunities where improvements of modifications can be made to increase equipment performance.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
Demonstrate the ability to meet set deadlines.
Ensure that all mechanical engineering work carried out on site complies with the site’s Health and Safety rules and procedures.
Investigate and solve problems as they occur, within the remit of your skills, training, and authorisation.
Conduct risk assessments of maintenance processes and tasks for your department.
Participate in a continuous improvement philosophy by working with EPC-UK staff and others to ensure the facility meets high operational and customer standards.
Be proactive in looking for opportunities where process improvements can be made and demonstrate a “CAN DO” attitude.
When trained in EPC-UK’s process, you will be required to:
- Review contractor supplied risk assessments and method statements, assessing them for sufficiency.
- Write robust work permits to control maintenance activities
- Oversee contractors on site to ensure they meet legal and company requirements.
- Work with site management in developing annual maintenance budgets and forecasts and capital expenditure proposals.
