Position Overview

To facilitate their ongoing success, we are seeking a Funding Operations Manager to oversee the administrative aspects of their grant applications and processes funded by Innovate UK, while collaborating with various internal and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor project deliverables, timelines, and financial allocations for grant-funded initiatives
  • Compile and submit quarterly progress reports for projects supported by Innovate UK
  • Identify and evaluate grant opportunities that align with the strategic goals of the organization, presenting findings to internal teams for approval
  • Ensure high-quality submissions by collaborating with technical and commercial leaders as well as grant writing specialists
  • Act as a representative for the organization at external events hosted by grant funding bodies, often alongside the technical team

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience and understanding of working with Innovate UK and other significant funding organizations
  • Background in managing and coordinating funding projects related to scientific research, including:
  • Report preparation
  • Financial oversight
  • Grant application development
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload
  • Detail-oriented approach
  • Proactive mindset typical of start-up environments, demonstrating initiative
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
