About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at New Forest Care Ltd. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for children who display challenging behaviour and present with emotional and behavioural difficulties, ADHD, and autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a positive adult role model for the children, providing guidance and support to help them develop social, emotional, and physical well-being.
  • Support the children in developing self-esteem, a feeling of safety, and personal strategies to deal with challenging behaviours.
  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the residential home, including cooking, cleaning, and finances.
  • Engage with the children, helping to develop their interests and organising relevant activities to support this.
  • Ensure the needs of the children are being met and review and record changes to those needs.
Requirements
  • Fully supported to complete a funded Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare to build your professional development and meet Ofsted requirements (if not already completed).
  • Experience of supporting vulnerable children within a residential care environment is advantageous, although not essential, as we will fully support you with relevant training and development.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and committed to being a positive role model, with confidence in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Flexible and able to work a residential care rota, including evening, weekends, and holiday periods.
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence.
