We are pleased to present an outstanding opportunity with Work Lyf Group Limited for a Functional Safety Engineer within the Aviation sector.
Our client stands as a leader in the production of custom high-performance radar antennas for both commercial and military applications, providing comprehensive radar systems.
With a global presence in over 60 countries and more than 500 installations, they are looking to enhance their team by bringing on board a Functional Safety Engineer.
The compensation for this role ranges from £55,000 to £70,000. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension and a potential transition to a permanent position.
The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team, focusing on the development of safety assurance documentation for various civil and military initiatives.
This position will primarily be based in Stoke, with the potential for HYBRID WORK arrangements and occasional travel to subsidiary locations and client sites as necessary.
Key Qualifications for the Functional Safety Engineer:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Functional Safety capacity, producing safety assurance data and/or Safety Cases in accordance with recognized National/International standards.
- Expertise in Failure Rate/Reliability Prediction, Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- A results-driven mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to engage actively in discussions and lead smaller meetings as required.
- Equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification in engineering or science.
- Experience in a transport or defense design or assurance context.
Preferred Qualifications for the Functional Safety Engineer:
- A degree in engineering or science, particularly in electronic or software engineering or related fields.
- Experience in the development of Software Assurance/Integrity Levels and the corresponding evidence/arguments.
- Background in Aviation or Air Traffic Management.
- Experience in Reliability Development, Testing, and Demonstration.
- Experience in Maintainability Analysis and Demonstration.
