We are pleased to present a remarkable opportunity with Work Lyf Group Limited for a Functional Safety Engineer within the Aviation Sector.
Our client stands as a premier entity in the production of tailored, high-performance radar antennas for both commercial and military applications, as well as a comprehensive provider of radar systems.
With a global footprint that includes over 60 countries and more than 500 installations, they are eager to expand their team by adding a Functional Safety Engineer.
Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from £55,000 to £70,000. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension and a potential transition to a permanent role.
The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary engineering team to create safety assurance documentation for various civil and military initiatives.
Location: The role is primarily based in Stoke, with the possibility of hybrid work arrangements. Occasional travel to subsidiary locations and client sites may be required.
Key Qualifications for the Functional Safety Engineer:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Functional Safety capacity, focusing on the development of safety assurance data and/or Safety Cases in accordance with recognized national and international standards.
- Expertise in Failure Rate/Reliability Prediction, Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A results-oriented mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to engage actively in discussions and lead small meetings as necessary.
- Equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification in engineering or science.
- Experience in the transport or defense design or assurance sectors.
Preferred Qualifications for the Functional Safety Engineer:
- A degree in engineering or science, particularly in electronic or software engineering or related fields.
- Experience in developing Software Assurance/Integrity Levels and the associated evidence and arguments.
- Familiarity with Aviation or Air Traffic Management.
- Experience in Reliability Development, Testing, and Demonstration.
- Knowledge of Maintainability Analysis and Demonstration.
