Ambulance Fleet Operations Manager

About the Role
The South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Fleet and Equipment team as a Senior Vehicle Preparation Operative. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and motivate a small team of Vehicle Preparation Operatives to prepare ambulances to the highest standards for responding to emergency calls.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of Vehicle Preparation Operatives to ensure ambulances are prepared to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Vehicle Preparation team.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure that ambulances are ready to respond to emergency situations.
- Conduct detailed cleaning and infection prevention and control activities to ensure patient safety.
- Inspect and check medical devices to ensure they are in good working order.
- Restock consumables and refuel ambulances to ensure they are ready for service.
- Drive vehicles across various locations to transport equipment and personnel.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English and Maths.
- Leadership or supervisory qualification or equivalent experience.
- Full driving licence with maximum 6 penalty points.
- Holds category C1 on driving licence, or obtain (training can be provided in house).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Infection Prevention Control qualification.
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience of working within a public service or customer care environment.
- Previous experience of driving various types of vehicles.
