Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Ambulance Dispatcher at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our 999 control room team, you will be responsible for the effective deployment and management of Trust vehicles to emergency and non-emergency calls across the Trust area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deploy and manage Trust vehicles to emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Work collaboratively with the 999 control room team to ensure effective communication and response to emergency calls
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

  • 4 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English (or equivalent)
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Be prepared to work shifts (24/7 rota providing cover on weekends, nights and bank holidays)
