Student Support and Engagement Coordinator

Bournemouth University is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. As a Student Support and Engagement Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students receive the help and guidance they need to succeed in their academic pursuits.
Reporting to the Manager, you will be the first point of contact for students who require support with wellbeing issues, and for staff members who have concerns about a student's progress. You will also serve as a liaison between faculties and Student Services, addressing areas of student concern, including non-engagement and general wellbeing issues that impact a student's ability to complete their program.
With experience in addressing welfare issues for adult learners and vulnerable groups, you will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, including empathy, understanding of professional boundaries, and the ability to work within these boundaries at all times. You will have a good understanding of confidentiality and data protection issues and be able to demonstrate a confident approach in dealing with challenging situations.
This is a high-pressure environment, and applicants must be able to remain calm, multitask efficiently, and be fully aware of professional boundaries. The post is available part-time for 30 hours per week, and consideration may be given to the position being offered as a secondment opportunity.
