Bunn Abbott Consulting is a leading recruitment agency specializing in placing top talent in the financial services industry. Our client, a renowned reinsurer, is seeking a highly skilled Global Cash Operations Assistant to join their team.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cash operations, including reconciliation, booking, and processing of financial transactions. This is a dynamic role that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Reconcile and verify financial transactions, including broker and cedant statements
- Book and apply cash receipts and disbursements in the reinsurance accounting system
- Process financial account messages and resolve issues related to cash allocation
- Monitor accounts receivable and reports for overdue accounts, and follow up on a timely basis
- Review cash in suspense balances and follow up on a timely basis
- Prepare and analyze AR gross up reports
- Liaise with brokers, coverholders, and clients to resolve aged debt issues
- Maintain documentation of anticipated receipts, cash disbursements, and broker queries
- Manage intercompany payments and receipts
- Provide regular updates to the team and manager
- Assist in creating efficiencies and value creation by reviewing existing processes and proposing updates or changes
- Participate in special projects or ad hoc tasks as required
Requirements
- Approximately 4 years of experience in credit control, cash management, or finance, preferably in a reinsurer or banking industry
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
