Job Summary:

Gregory Group is seeking a skilled Transport Operations Coordinator to join our team in Coalville. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for planning and scheduling transportation operations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize transportation operations to meet customer requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Collaborate with transport managers to optimize routes and schedules, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to add value to existing contracts and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure trailers and vehicles are available when required.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding transportation operations.
  • Ensure vehicle activity is planned in the most efficient manner, minimizing delays and reducing costs.
  • Ensure all contracted work is covered in line with customer expectations.
  • Debrief drivers at the end of each shift to ensure they are aware of any issues or concerns.
  • Meet daily revenue targets per shift per vehicle.
  • Communicate collection times and delivery bookings with customers.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Monitor and update the TMS system to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in transportation or logistics, preferably in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Good understanding of legal compliance, driver's hours, and WTDs.
  • Leadership skills and ability to lead successful change initiatives.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management and communication.
  • Ability to present to senior key contacts within the business and to customers.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, and strong analytical ability in reviewing data and reports.
