About the Role

Mint Velvet is a dynamic and growing fashion business that is passionate about creating high-quality, stylish clothing. We are seeking an experienced and creative Assistant Fashion Designer to join our Design team, based at our Head Office in High Wycombe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and interpret current and future fashion trends to create designs that reflect our relaxed glamour ethos.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our brand's aesthetic and values, and apply this knowledge to create designs that meet our customers' needs.
  • Collaborate with our Buying team to ensure that designs are commercially viable and meet our quality standards.
  • Work closely with our Senior Design team to develop and refine designs, and ensure that they are aligned with our brand's vision and values.
  • Present designs to the wider Design and Buying teams, and provide clear and concise explanations of the design vision and inspiration behind each piece.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Fashion Designer in a similar role, with a strong understanding of fashion trends and design principles.
  • Excellent technical design skills, including proficiency in CAD, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Passion for fashion and a deep understanding of our brand's aesthetic and values.
