About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team at HMP Stoke Heath. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care to individuals in custody.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based interventions and assessments to individuals in custody
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans using the Care Programme Approach
  • Facilitate therapeutic group work and deliver evidenced-based interventions
  • Identify individuals requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfer under the Mental Health Act
  • Line manage Band 5 nurses where appropriate

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
  • Evidence of recent CPD and compliance with NMC revalidation
  • Considerable experience of working in the mental health field
  • Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems, counselling techniques, CBT, and motivational interviewing
  • Providing supervision and line management of staff
