Position Overview

Full-Time Commitment: 37.5 Hours Per Week

We are pleased to announce a secondment opportunity within our Infection Prevention and Control Team.

We seek to appoint a Band 6 Infection Control Specialist Nurse, who will primarily be based at Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, with responsibilities extending to our secondary site.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified First Level Registered Nurse. While prior experience in infection prevention and control is advantageous, it is not mandatory. A relevant qualification in infection prevention and control, along with a teaching qualification such as ENB or equivalent, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Infection Prevention and Control Team in executing operational services.
• Provide professional leadership, guidance, and supervision, fostering innovation and enhancing care standards related to Infection Prevention and Control.
• Contribute to service development and the implementation of policies across the organization.
• Offer specialized knowledge across various clinical areas, applying advanced judgment, discretion, and decision-making in clinical care.
• Facilitate the Trust's infection prevention and control strategy, continuously monitoring standards, disseminating audit and surveillance data, and participating in the formulation of action plans to promote improvements in practice.
• Collaborate effectively with all Trust personnel, delivering training and education, developing services, and ensuring the provision of safe, compassionate, and effective care.
