Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Assistant to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a prestigious independent school catering for day pupils and 650 boarders. The successful candidate will work on a weekend-only basis, including evening shifts during term time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner according to established menus and recipes.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of front-of-house areas, including organizing dishes and utensils.
  • Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures to guarantee food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food and supplies, notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff during mealtimes, addressing any concerns or special dietary needs.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings related to food service procedures, safety protocols, and customer service standards.
Requirements
  • Experience working within education catering is highly desirable.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge is essential.
  • Flexibility with a can-do attitude, customer-focused approach, and a fun and enthusiastic personality are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and enjoy succeeding as a team player.
  • Great customer service skills and a flexible approach to work are essential.
