Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Housekeeping Team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality food service to our in-patient ward, maintaining a clean and safe environment in the food preparation area.

Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to in-patients, adhering to the CIEH Food Hygiene Regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in the food preparation area, ensuring a positive service user experience.
  • Undertake preparation of meals and beverages for patients, using high-quality materials and resources.
  • Liaise with clinicians, dietetic services, patients, and their relatives to ensure accurate information is communicated and patients receive appropriate nutrition and hydration.
  • Clean food preparation areas using appropriate equipment and colour-coded accessories.

Person Specification
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Previous housekeeping experience (desirable).
  • Ability to work within a team and on own initiative.
  • Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate (or similar) or be prepared to work towards.
  • Experience of working within the NHS (desirable).
Education, Qualifications & Training
  • Basic secondary school education.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Basic computer skills or willingness to learn.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
  • Ability to work within a team and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to be part of a flexible duty roster, including weekend work in rotation.
  • Good health and ability to cope with physical aspects of the post, including safe lifting and handling techniques.
Special Circumstances
  • Flexible approach to working schedules.
  • Ability to travel to other Trust sites.
