About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Casual Coach to join our team at Liverpool Football Club. As a Casual Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting and developing young athletes within our Foundation Phase Age Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver coaching sessions, following a training programme.
  • Provide input to the development and ongoing improvement/adaptation of the coaching curriculum.
  • Coach in a way that encourages players to ask questions and seek feedback for improvement and clarity.
  • Ensure players are encouraged to have input to footballing decisions and their own learning process.
  • Communicate the 'why' as well as the 'what' of decisions to players.
  • Ensure players know and understand the purpose and 'why' of training sessions.
  • Provide learning and development opportunities to volunteer coaches.
  • Input into selection decisions, including attending trials and participating in post-trial selection decisions.
  • Work across age groups, with responsibility for one age group and occasional work with other groups.
  • Work with individual players to set development targets and create plans to achieve them.
  • Provide feedback to players, using technology where appropriate.
  • Monitor and evaluate player development, providing regular feedback to players and parents/carers.
  • Liaise with coaches, medics, and performance staff regarding player development, injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Ensure games and festivals are well-managed, with a development philosophy clear to players and parents/carers.
  • Be available to offer advice, guidance, and support to players on football and personal matters.
  • Ensure player behaviour reflects the required standards.
  • Work with the Safeguarding Manager to ensure the wellbeing and welfare of all players and staff are always an operational priority.
Requirements
  • FA Level 2/UEFA C or above coaching qualification.
  • FA DBS.
  • FA Safeguarding Children.
  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid.
