Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to become a member of our team within the staff accommodation cleaning division, with the following working hours:

Monday - Friday 08:00 - 12:00

Your role will involve collaborating with colleagues to ensure that all staff living quarters are maintained in a pristine condition.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Changing bedding and performing thorough cleans when staff vacate their rooms.
  • Completing daily cleaning assignments as per established protocols.

Job Duties

Post Title: Cleaning Services Associate

Pay Band: 2

Hours: 20 hours per week

Location / Department: Staff Accommodation

Accountable to: Facilities Manager

Reports to: Cleaning Supervisor

Key Working Relationships:

Collaborating with ward and departmental staff, as well as interacting with patients and visitors.

Job Purpose:

To assist in upholding a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This includes performing general cleaning duties across all areas of the facility and applying specialized cleaning techniques using appropriate materials and equipment as necessary.

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas according to established standards and schedules.
  • Execute specialized cleaning tasks, including those in isolation rooms and operating theatres, adhering to agreed standards.
  • Decontaminate rooms as required, utilizing specialized equipment in accordance with infection prevention guidelines.
  • Follow instructions accurately and propose improvements to cleaning practices.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently and in line with infection control protocols.
  • Utilize correct cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
  • Manage waste disposal in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of all surfaces, including edges, ledges, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Perform cleaning of both hard and soft flooring using the appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Ensure sanitary areas are cleaned effectively using the correct methods.
  • Carry out high and low-level cleaning tasks as required.
  • Restock supplies of paper products, soap, and sanitizers.
  • Collect and refill patient water jugs and glasses.
  • Reheat patient meals following established procedures.
  • Dispose of used patient locker bags and replace them with clean ones.
  • Collect trays and utensils post-meal service.
  • Perform specialized cleaning as directed by the cleaning supervisor.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely, displaying hazard warning signs as necessary.
  • Adhere to departmental color coding policies.
  • Comply with infection control policies and procedures.
  • Utilize mechanical cleaning equipment as required.
  • Report any defective equipment to the cleaning supervisor.
  • Clean equipment after use.
  • Strip and reseal floors as needed.
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and appropriately.
  • Engage in cleaning tasks at heights when necessary.
  • Clean ventilation grilles and light fixtures.
  • Remove and clean radiator covers.

Standard Clauses:
