About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at the Woolverstone Macmillan Centre. As a key member of our outpatient haemato-oncology service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the continued development of our cancer services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a range of clinical care duties, including venepuncture, phlebotomy, ECG, and blood glucose monitoring, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Welcome patients and visitors to the clinic/ward, ensuring they are orientated and aware of hospital routines and facilities.
  • Care for patients to meet their physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Assist the multidisciplinary team with clinical procedures and act as a chaperone when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, visitors, and other staff members to maintain dignity and respect.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a health setting.
  • Care certificate achieved or demonstrable relevant skills.
  • Evidence of completed competencies as part of a professional portfolio.
  • Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent experience.
