We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Tech Coach to join our team at Yorkshire Housing. As a key member of our building services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the effective day-to-day quality of our building services operatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical operational insight to colleagues across the business, serving as a point of contact for referrals and second opinions.
- Ensure all building services operatives comply with relevant health and safety legislation and building regulations.
- Undertake sample checks and quality control of operatives, scoring fairly against agreed criteria, and provide consistent evaluation and effective feedback to support operatives in improving and learning.
- Work effectively with the team leader to deliver and monitor performance management measures, identifying performance issues regarding technical capabilities and/or attitudes and behaviors, and escalating to the team leader when necessary.
- Support in proactively dealing with complaints and de-escalating potential customer complaints.
- Collaborate with the building services team leader to identify training needs at a technical level, implement individual improvement strategies, and create a coaching culture to upskill operatives and encourage continuous improvement.
- Establish trust and serve as a role model for operatives, demonstrating quality, efficiency, compliance, accountability, and customer-centricity.
- Significant experience undertaking repairs work in a customer-facing environment, preferably as a multi-skilled operative confident in various trades, with a strong background in plumbing or joinery.
- Customer-focused with the ability to understand and meet customer expectations, and coach others to do the same.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and form strong working relationships based on mutual respect.
- Ability to constructively challenge and offer solutions.
- Passionate about developing people and identifying potential in others.
- Thorough knowledge of current health and safety best practices.
- Eye for detail, with the ability to quickly identify gaps in quality.
- Willingness to learn about reporting, providing reports, and learning new systems.
- Full driving license valid for the UK and willingness to work across Yorkshire.
- Salary of £35,261.65 per annum for a 37.5-hour week, 25 days annual leave (raising annually to 30 days) plus Bank Holidays.
