Community Support Worker - Children and Young People

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team in Cambridgeshire, working with disabled children and young people and their families.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children and young people or adults with a disability, and a strong understanding of professional boundaries, respect for others' feelings and views, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently to organise and plan your own workload, prioritising tasks and managing your time effectively
  • Build strong relationships with children and young people, their families, and other professionals, using active listening and empathy skills
  • Provide support and guidance to children and young people, promoting their independence and well-being
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other agencies to ensure seamless support and services for children and young people

Requirements:

  • Diploma (or NVQ) at Level 2 in a Childcare related subject or be willing to work towards it
  • Experience of working with children and young people or adults with a disability
  • Understanding of the principles and limits of confidentiality
  • Evidence of awareness of the impact of oppression and discrimination
  • Consideration of the significance of safeguarding
