About the Institution:
This institution provides transformative opportunities for children and young individuals aged 4-18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We believe that with the appropriate support, all autistic children can achieve excellence in both their personal and academic endeavors.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Special Educational Needs Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting students who exhibit challenging behaviors due to their additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working in a specialized environment tailored for students with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
- Providing support and guidance to foster a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to implement customized strategies for students with autism who display challenging behaviors.
Qualifications and Skills:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Previous experience as a Support Assistant, particularly in special education settings.
- A strong understanding and empathy for students with autism and other learning and behavioral challenges.
- The ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors.
- An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
- The legal right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications:
While not essential, qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or higher are preferred.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Compensation:
Daily pay rate ranges from £85 to £95.
