Job Summary
Essex County Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Children and Young People with Disabilities Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to children and young adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of children and young adults.
- Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure seamless support and services.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young adults, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Work closely with our Occupational Therapy team to enhance the lives of our service users.
- Process applications for additional funding to support learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
- Demonstrable capability to practice in line with current professional standards, such as the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
- Proficiency in case recording.
- Strong working knowledge of information technology and related systems.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
