Empowering Children with Disabilities

Essex County Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our Children and Young People with Disabilities Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in empowering children and young adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality social work services to children and young adults with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative services that promote the well-being and inclusion of children and young adults with disabilities.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England as a registered Social Worker.
  • Demonstrable capability to practice in line with current professional standards, such as the Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
  • Proficiency in case recording and strong working knowledge of information technology and related systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
