The Company:
Agricultural Recruitment Specialists Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Farm Manager to join their dynamic and growing vegetable farm in East Anglia. The Job:

  1. Assist the Farm Manager in overseeing daily operations, including planting, harvesting, and crop management, to ensure the farm's continued success.
  2. Supervise and manage farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols, to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  3. Monitor and ensure crop health through regular inspections, pest control, and soil management, to optimize yield and minimize waste.
  4. Coordinate with suppliers, logistics teams, and customers to meet delivery schedules and market demands, to ensure timely and efficient delivery of produce.
  5. Implement sustainable farming practices to enhance yield while maintaining environmental responsibility, to contribute to the farm's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
  6. Support in budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting on farm activities, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  7. Assist with the planning and rotation of crops to optimize farm production, to ensure the farm's continued success.

The Candidate:

  1. Prior experience in farming, preferably in vegetable crop production, to demonstrate a strong understanding of agricultural practices and crop cycles.
  2. Strong understanding of agricultural practices, crop cycles, and soil management, to ensure effective crop management and optimization.
  3. Ability to manage and lead a team effectively, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  4. Proficiency in operating farm machinery and tools, to ensure efficient and effective farm operations.
  5. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in agriculture, to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  6. Flexibility to work longer hours during peak seasons, to ensure the farm's continued success.
  7. Valid driving license (tractor driving experience is a plus), to ensure safe and efficient transportation of personnel and equipment.
  8. A degree in agriculture, horticulture, or related field, to demonstrate a strong foundation in agricultural practices and principles.
  9. Experience with sustainable farming methods and practices, to contribute to the farm's commitment to innovation and sustainability.
  10. Familiarity with farm management software or technologies, to ensure efficient and effective farm operations.

The Package:
Competitive salary circa £45,000 DOE
