Job Summary

Vox Network Consultants is seeking an experienced Nature Conservation Manager to lead our ecological initiatives and promote sustainable living. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our nature reserves and other conservation sites, developing and implementing ecological programs, and providing expert advice to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ecological Program Development
    • Design and implement ecological programs to promote nature conservation and sustainable living
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, organizations, and stakeholders to promote ecological initiatives
  • Site Management
    • Oversee the management of nature reserves and other conservation sites, including maintenance, security, and health and safety
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve the biodiversity and ecological value of these sites
  • Team Leadership
    • Supervise and manage a team of ecological staff and volunteers to deliver excellent services
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and knowledge of team members
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders on ecological matters, including biodiversity policy and legislation
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, organizations, and stakeholders to promote ecological initiatives
Requirements
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience of managing nature reserves, parks, or other open space
    • Experience of supervising and managing staff or volunteers to deliver excellent services
    • Experience of delivering an education/events program and/or managing buildings or internal spaces
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of a Council's duties around biodiversity and the role of urban nature conservation in delivering wider social objectives
    • Knowledge of biodiversity policy and legislation as it applies to the planning system, including Biodiversity Action Plans and Biodiversity Net Gain
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Contract
  • Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
  • PAYE via Umbrella
  • Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
