Potensis Selection is pleased to partner with a leading housebuilding company to appoint an Infrastructure Engineer to join their high-performing technical team in Hertfordshire.

The company has an excellent pipeline of new projects and is continuing to acquire new sites, leading to the need to expand their current team.

The Engineer will play a vital role in providing engineering advice to the business and managing the engineering aspects of various new projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of detailed engineering designs, including layouts, roads, drainage, and foundations, in accordance with the programme agreed by the Technical Director.
  • Provide engineering design advice at the pre-acquisition and planning stage.
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates at the planning application stage and at the issue of information to the Building Department.
  • Manage external consultants to ensure that engineering designs are in place with the agreed brief, accurate, and produced on time.

Additional responsibilities:

  • When additional resources are required by the Design Department, assist in preparing planning layouts based on the draft received by the Head of Design, as agreed by the Technical Director.
  • Provide technical information to in-house build teams and subcontractors to ensure that designs can be implemented.

All candidates are required to have civil engineering design experience, preferably in relation to new build residential projects, specifically relating to Section 278, Section 104, and Section 38 works.

This role would be suitable for someone currently involved in engineering design working for a residential developer or an engineering/multi-disciplinary consultancy looking to move to a client-side position.
