Freight Branch Manager Opportunity

Gleeson Recruitment Group is partnering with a leading global business to find a talented Freight Branch Manager. This exciting opportunity is perfect for a seasoned freight professional looking to take their career to the next level in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of freight professionals to achieve exceptional results and targets.
  • Oversee daily operations, manage staff, and ensure high performance in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Provide training and supervision, maintaining up-to-date staff training records and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Supervise import and export operations, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time, including legal, financial, and invoicing processes.
  • Develop and maintain departmental SOPs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Communicate internal leads to the sales and customer service teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure quotations are processed and communicated within two hours, with proper documentation and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the warehouse and line manager to enhance processes and drive operational efficiency, ensuring maximum value for the business.
  • Oversee local sales activities, ensuring the sales team is informed and aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Build and nurture strong customer relationships, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor departmental cost capture for accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure procurement processes deliver value for money, ensuring the business gets the best possible deals and services.
  • Ensure contractors comply with Health & Safety regulations, overseeing risk assessments and incident reporting to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting issues immediately to prevent downtime and ensure business continuity.
Key Talents:
  • Strong knowledge of import/export operations and regulatory compliance, with a focus on industry standards and best practices.
  • Solid financial management expertise, especially in cost tracking and invoice processing, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong experience within Air / Sea / Road freight operations, with a focus on logistics and supply chain management.
  • Management and direct report management experience, with a focus on leadership and team development.
