Job Title: Registered Theatre Nurse

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Theatre Nurse to join our team at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and delivering theatre care in the peri-operative setting, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a scrub team leader, overseeing the smooth running of lists and ensuring effective communication with the theatre team.
  • Develop, train, and monitor the clinical skills of a designated group of staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of pre, peri, and postoperative care, ensuring compliance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a cost-effective service, adjusting staffing levels to meet demand and working closely with clinical coordinators to manage resources.

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse or Registered ODP with teaching and supervision qualification.
  • Extensive experience in theatre scrub and team lead in orthopaedic theatre.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and teaching and assessment experience.

Desirable Criteria:

  • L6 or above academic level.
  • Management training and knowledge of current issues in operating theatre.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to organize day-to-day theatre activities and lead and delegate appropriately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
