Theatre Recovery Nurse Role

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Theatre Recovery Nurse to join our team at the NHS. As a Theatre Recovery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients throughout their operative journey.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the appropriate care setting as a qualified or student nurse and will be able to care for the ill in a variety of settings. They will also have significant Theatres Experience and be able to develop their own clinical skills and widen their theoretical knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have effective verbal and written communication skills, be able to solve day-to-day problems, and be willing to develop teaching skills. They will also be able to participate in establishing a positive working environment in which patients receive a high standard of care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to patients throughout their operative journey.
  • Support and guide the theatre team within the clinical area.
  • Assist with the training and development of junior staff and students.
  • Take responsibility for running recovery rooms in conjunction with and in the absence of a Senior Theatre Recovery Nurse.
  • Participate in the daily checking and maintenance of essential equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of all clinical and legal documentation.

Person Specification

  • NMC Level 1 Registration/ODP City & Guilds 752 or NVQ3 in ODP Practice.
  • Diploma/Degree.
  • Experience of working in the appropriate care setting as a qualified or student nurse.
  • Ability to care for the ill in a variety of settings as a qualified or student nurse.
  • Significant Theatres Experience.
