Job Summary: Altair Engineering is seeking a Design Release Engineer to join our team in Windsor, ON. This is a contract position.

As a key member of our Propulsion Systems team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing components in support of electrified powertrain integration. You will work closely with designers, CAE groups, suppliers, and manufacturing to ensure designs are robust for function and manufacturing.

  • Design and develop components and systems to meet performance specifications
  • Release 2D drawings and 3D models
  • Conduct center of excellence reviews for design robustness
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or equivalent from an ABET accredited university
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with basic PC software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
  • Knowledge of hardware release process, DFMEAs, DVPs, and root cause analysis methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited university
  • Designing components manufactured from plastic and metal stamping and/or OEM experience with advanced quality tools such as DFMEA, DVPR, function models, and/or NX CAD skills
  • Experience with 3D FEA and flow analysis
  • Green Belt in Design for Six Sigma methodology
