Senior Finance Officer

We are looking for a dedicated professional to manage all financial and transactional duties.

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will be instrumental in transitioning external accounting functions in-house, with the opportunity to establish a finance team in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management
- Oversee bookkeeping activities, including processing payments, invoices, income, and receipts, while entering data into accounting software and maintaining physical records.
- Prepare comprehensive financial statements reflecting business income and expenditures.
- Develop monthly financial reports, including cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial records and notify the Accountant of discrepancies.
- Assist the Accountant with administrative tasks and the preparation of annual accounts.

Accounts Payable
- Manage the purchase ledger and execute monthly payment runs.
- Conduct supplier and subcontractor payment processes.
- Regularly monitor and reconcile supplier accounts.
- Perform bank and petty cash reconciliations.
- Track credit card expenses and monitor project costs.
- Address internal and external financial inquiries.
- Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
- Undertake ad-hoc projects as assigned by Company Directors.

Credit Management
- Address account inquiries and ensure accurate payment allocations.
- Document all communications in the CRM system.
- Monitor disputed accounts and implement solutions to resolve issues.

Payroll Administration
- Manage end-to-end payroll for a team of 10+ employees.
- Calculate wages and salaries, including manual calculations as needed.
- Issue tax forms and assist employees in completing them.
- Handle various statutory payments and payroll adjustments, such as tax code changes.
- Deduct tax and insurance contributions.
- Resolve employee queries regarding timesheets, payslips, and payroll matters promptly and professionally.
- Utilize data analysis tools to track outstanding debts and conduct necessary audits to ensure compliance with internal processes.

Qualifications:
- Professional qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) is required.
- Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and IF functions, with the ability to create well-structured tables, reports, and charts.
- Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and company financials.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience managing a small finance department, preferably in the private healthcare sector.
- Previous experience in credit management is essential.
- Familiarity with medical CRM, payment processing, and accounting software (preferably Xero).
- Understanding of collection guidelines, insolvency processes, and compliance with PCI and GDPR regulations.
