We are in search of a talented and driven Senior Flood Risk Consultant to enhance our Flooding and Water Management Division. This role provides flexibility, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with options for adjusted working hours.

As a member of the Water Environment Division, you will be instrumental in the sustainable management of water resources, focusing on safeguarding the water environment, improving safety, and bolstering resilience against flood risks and climate change. We are committed to fostering your technical skills and expertise, empowering you to become a Change Maker by developing sustainable and innovative solutions to tackle these pressing issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of flood risk evaluations, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and flood risk management initiatives across the UK for infrastructure/utilities and development projects in both public and private sectors.

Offer technical support to the team’s modellers and ensure the integrity of flood risk modelling outputs.

Lead or work closely with project managers to coordinate resources, manage contracts, supervise client interactions, and oversee quality, timelines, and budgets.

Guide team members, provide technical assistance, and track their development.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Extensive experience in hydraulic modelling across diverse projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with standard hydraulic modelling software such as Innovyze ICM, Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or SRH2D.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and the ability to adhere to project specifications and deadlines.
  • Understanding of economic assessments like MCM and B£ST.
  • Experience in optioneering and schematic design.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective engagement in public and statutory consultations.
  • Knowledge of Flood Risk Assessment, Natural Flood Management, and Sustainable Drainage techniques is advantageous.
  • Possess chartered status and a relevant postgraduate qualification.
