We are looking for a talented and driven Senior Flood Risk Modelling Specialist to join our Flooding and Water Management Team. This role offers flexibility, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, with the possibility of adjusted working hours.

As a key member of the Water Environment Department, you will significantly contribute to the sustainable management of water resources, focusing on safeguarding the water environment, improving safety, and bolstering resilience against flood risks and climate change. Key Responsibilities:

Perform a variety of flood risk assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and flood risk management strategies across the UK for infrastructure/utilities and development initiatives in both public and private sectors.

Offer technical direction to the modelling team and ensure the excellence of flood risk modelling outputs.

Lead or work closely with project managers to coordinate resources, manage contracts, supervise client interactions, and oversee quality, timelines, and budgets.

Guide and mentor team members, providing technical assistance and tracking their development.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Extensive experience in hydraulic modelling across diverse projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK hydrology and open channel hydraulics.
  • Familiarity with standard hydraulic modelling software such as Innovyze ICM, Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or SRH2D.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities and the ability to adhere to project requirements and deadlines.
  • Understanding of economic evaluations like MCM and B£ST.
  • Experience in optioneering and schematic design.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective engagement in public and statutory consultations.
  • Knowledge of Flood Risk Assessment, Natural Flood Management, and Sustainable Drainage techniques is advantageous.
  • Chartered status and a relevant postgraduate degree are preferred.
