We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Children's Support Worker in a brand new children's residential service in Chudleigh Knighton, Newton Abbot.

About the Role

You will be supporting young people between the ages of 8-18 years old with learning/physical disabilities, complex health needs, autism, and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture in the homes
  • Keep on top of household duties
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Support the children and young people in promoting their independence and well-being
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
  • Support with personal care and medication
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a similar social care setting
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People desirable but not essential
  • Hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence, due to the nature of the role you may be required to transport the young people
