Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust. As a key member of our Early Intervention Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, you will play a vital role in improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality mental health services to children and families, working in partnership with other professionals to provide brief intervention therapy and skilled mental health triage and assessments.
  • Work autonomously, carrying out clinical assessments and formulation, and providing support to the Universal Children's Workforce to increase their capacity to identify and manage children's mental health needs.
  • Promote the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community, from birth into adulthood.
  • Support an outreach capacity to engage with vulnerable groups and facilitate access to Specialist CAMHS and other relevant provision according to level and nature of need.
  • Contribute to the promotion and participation in integrated practice and multi-agency support team models.
  • Work on own initiative, prioritizing workload and reporting back regularly for supervision with the Service Management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and exercise professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice.
  • Plan and deliver treatment interventions in line with Best Practice and local and National Guidelines.
