Job Summary

Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. As an Adult Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in improving the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Mental Health Triage and Assessments: Conduct skilled mental health triage and assessments to identify the needs of children and families, and provide brief intervention therapy where necessary.
  2. Collaboration with Universal Children's Workforce: Work closely with the Universal Children's Workforce to increase their capacity to identify and manage children's mental health needs, through liaison and joint working between services.
  3. Outreach and Engagement: Support an outreach capacity to engage with vulnerable groups, promoting the mental and emotional health of children, young people, and families in the community.
  4. Access to Specialist CAMHS: Facilitate appropriate access to Specialist CAMHS and other relevant provision according to level and nature of need.
  5. Integrated Practice and Multi-Agency Support: Contribute to the promotion and participation in integrated practice and multi-agency support team models.
  6. Clinical Record Keeping and Governance: Maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and exercise professional self-governance in accordance with professional codes of practice.
  7. Treatment Interventions: Plan and deliver treatment interventions in line with Best Practice and local and National Guidelines.
  8. Children's IAPT Values: Promote and embed Children's IAPT values within the service and wider workforce.
  9. Driving Licence and Vehicle: Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Requirements

  • Highly skilled Mental Health Practitioner with experience in working with children and young people.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Universal Children's Workforce and other services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional codes of practice.
  • Full, valid, UK driving licence and access to a car for business purposes.
