About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistant to join our ASC Centre team at Bracknell and Wokingham College. The successful candidate will support students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties or supporting students to access their course.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate individual learning programmes and provide support to learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres.
  • Facilitate the students' learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning in collaboration with the ASC Coordinators to meet the needs of the learners.
  • Support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.
  • Personal care may form part of the duties included in this role, and training will be provided.
Requirements
  • Resilience, motivation, initiative, and patience are essential for this role.
  • Good communication skills to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
  • A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential, but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties a young person may experience is essential.
