Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Housing Assessment Specialist to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing high-priority housing applications and providing expert advice to applicants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage a caseload of high-need housing applications, identifying suitable housing options and rehousing prospects.
  • Provide targeted advice on the Council's lettings scheme and procedure to maximize sustainable housing options and rehousing prospects.
  • Collaborate with advocates and other professionals to develop individual rehousing strategies and provide support to high-need applicants.
  • Carry out home visits to assess circumstances and offer the best possible housing options, advice, and information on rehousing prospects.
  • Identify cases of suspected fraudulent applications and refer them to the Team Manager.
  • Work closely with Occupational Therapists and other Health Professionals to ensure the best possible advice is provided to those requiring accessible homes.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Disabled Peoples Register and Accessible Housing Register, ensuring IT systems are regularly updated.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with the legislative and policy framework within the lettings service, including Part VI Housing Act 1996 as amended.
  • Experience of Housing Options and the ability to use a variety of ICT systems.
  • A good general standard of education, written, and verbal skills.
Working Arrangements

This role requires the ability to work evenings and weekends with appropriate notice. A DBS check will be required for this position.
