JOB TITLE: Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking a committed and patient-focused Specialty Doctor in Stroke Medicine to become a vital part of our team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Our Stroke Medicine department is comprised of a team of experienced consultants and provides a comprehensive range of services, including Hyper-acute Stroke care, TIA clinics, and acute rehabilitation stroke services across various locations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Uphold exceptional clinical standards in Stroke services, emphasizing HASU, ASU, and TIA clinics.
  • Engage in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings focused on Stroke care.
  • Conduct thorough examinations, diagnostic investigations, and therapeutic treatments for patients.
  • Oversee the work of junior doctors and specialist nursing staff.
  • Participate in educational initiatives within the department, including teaching and mentoring opportunities.
  • Contribute to research, audit, and clinical governance efforts.
  • Provide medical guidance to clinic personnel and collaborate with other departments and agencies as necessary.
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities related to Stroke services.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • MRCP or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • MBChB/MBBS or equivalent medical degree
  • A minimum of four years of postgraduate training

Experience and Skills:

  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in Stroke Medicine
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in clinical education and supervision
  • Proficient IT skills, with a focus on innovation and a commitment to continuous learning
