Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. As a key member of our stroke leadership team, you will be responsible for strengthening the delivery of high-quality stroke medicine services across the hospital and community.

Key responsibilities include commitment to HASU and TIA clinics, contributing to the regional Stroke thrombolysis rota, and providing leadership and expertise in the management of stroke medicine across the emergency pathway.

You will also be responsible for developing high-quality, patient-centered stroke services and innovative practices in clinical patient management, focusing on high-quality care and emphasis on community management where appropriate.

Additionally, you will provide a 7-day service with colleagues, teach and train undergraduate and postgraduate doctors, and ensure quality assurance of the service and individual practice.

About the Role
  • Strengthen delivery of high-quality stroke medicine services across the hospital and community
  • Commitment to HASU and TIA clinics
  • Contribute to the regional Stroke thrombolysis rota
  • Provide leadership and expertise in the management of stroke medicine across the emergency pathway
  • Develop high-quality, patient-centered stroke services and innovative practices in clinical patient management
  • Develop the use of nurse practitioners and paramedical staff
  • Provide a 7-day service with colleagues
  • Teach and train undergraduate and postgraduate doctors
  • Quality assurance of the service and individual practice
Requirements
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Applicants must continue to hold a Licence to Practise
  • You must be on the specialist register for Medicine or within 6 months of being admitted to the register for trainees, if currently in a training programme in the UK
  • CCT in Stroke Medicine
