Job Description Area Director, Eastern UkraineWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Director to lead our programs and operations in Eastern Ukraine. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex humanitarian/development projects and a deep understanding of the challenges facing children in conflict-affected areas.
Responsibilities:- Program Management & Implementation: Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of high-quality programs aligned with Save the Children's strategic objectives. Ensure effective coordination with local partners and stakeholders to maximize impact.
- Financial Management: Manage program budgets, ensure transparent financial reporting, and maintain compliance with donor requirements.
- Team Leadership & Capacity Building: Provide guidance and support to a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability.
- Representation & Advocacy: Represent Save the Children at local and national levels, engaging with government officials, donors, and other key stakeholders to advocate for children's rights and needs.
- Security Management: Ensure the safety and security of staff and program participants by implementing robust security protocols and risk management strategies.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in humanitarian/development organizations, including 5 years in a senior management role.
- University degree in international development, social work, or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and programs, with a focus on child protection and well-being.
- Strong financial management skills, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills. Fluency in English is essential.
