Position Overview

The Finance Platform Business Analyst is responsible for delivering technical expertise and support in the development, implementation, and enhancement of the Finance platform. This role is crucial in ensuring that the platform operates efficiently and incorporates the latest features to facilitate finance-related activities within Unite Students.

Acting as a liaison between the technical functionalities of the Finance Platform and the operational needs of the business, this position ensures that the platform is configured, tailored, and utilized to maximize its benefits while upholding data integrity, security, and compliance standards. The analyst will also be expected to train and become proficient in new SaaS technologies as they are integrated.

By fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, the Finance Platform Business Analyst will cultivate strong working relationships with team members and the broader organization, reporting directly to the Finance Platform Lead. This role is part of the Business Platforms Team within the IT department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support for Enterprise Systems and the associated business processes, collaborating with key users and third-party support partners to resolve issues.
  • Implement system modifications and enhancements to streamline business processes, ensuring key users have the appropriate tools, while collaborating with Managed Service providers as necessary. This includes drafting and analyzing functional requirements and devising effective solutions.
  • Assist in the management of upcoming Enterprise Systems as they are introduced.
  • Support the management of the team's workload to ensure that priorities are effectively addressed.
  • Develop, refine, and execute a change management process to facilitate fixes and modifications in alignment with business priorities and team capacity.
  • Ensure all support requests and communications are documented within the ITSM tool, responding to inquiries within established SLA targets in a professional manner, and escalating issues as needed.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of system documentation that aligns with IT and business requirements.
  • Collaborate with other business units to identify needs for new initiatives that enhance our core systems.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues through effective interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups.
  • Manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process for system changes and updates, coordinating and analyzing testing scenarios, executing tests as necessary, and supporting key users throughout the process.
  • Schedule updates, upgrades, and code releases in accordance with business priorities and team workload.

Qualifications

  • Proficient knowledge of Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS, and Oracle Financials.
  • Experience in providing support and analysis for large-scale, tier 1 ERP systems.
  • Proven track record in supporting and delivering IT changes and projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, translating business needs into functional and technical solutions.
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Oracle, and Azure.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently, prioritizing and managing assigned tasks.
  • Experience utilizing IT support tools including Project Management, ITSM, and Development and Deployment tools.
