Role Overview

The Finance Platform Specialist is responsible for delivering technical support and expertise in the enhancement, implementation, and optimization of the Finance platform. This position ensures that the platform operates efficiently and is equipped with the latest functionalities to facilitate finance-related operations within Unite Students.

Acting as a liaison between the technical capabilities of the Finance Platform and the business requirements, this role guarantees that the platform is configured, tailored, and utilized in a way that maximizes its value to the organization while upholding data integrity, security, and compliance. The individual will also be eager to train and become a functional authority in new SaaS technologies as they are integrated.

By leading through example and fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere, the Finance Platform Specialist will cultivate strong working relationships with team members and the broader organization, reporting directly to the Finance Platform Lead. This position is part of the Business Platforms Team within the IT department.

Key Responsibilities

Provide advanced support for our Enterprise Systems and the associated business processes, collaborating with key users and third-party support partners to resolve issues. Implement system modifications and enhancements to streamline business processes and equip key users with the necessary tools, working alongside Managed Service providers as needed. This includes drafting and analyzing functional requirements and developing practical solutions. Assist in the management of future Enterprise Systems as they are introduced. Aid in overseeing the team's workload to ensure priorities are effectively managed. Develop, refine, and execute a change management process to facilitate fixes and modifications aligned with business priorities and team capacity. Ensure all support requests and communications are documented within our ITSM tool, responding to inquiries within agreed service level targets in a professional manner, and escalating issues as necessary. Take ownership of, create, and maintain system documentation that aligns with IT and business requirements. Collaborate with other business functions to identify needs for new initiatives that enhance our core systems. Foster excellent working relationships with clients and colleagues through strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups. Manage the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process for system changes and updates, coordinating and analyzing testing scenarios, executing tests when necessary, and supporting key users throughout the process. Schedule patches, upgrades, and code releases in accordance with business priorities and team workload.

Qualifications and Skills

Proficient knowledge of Oracle Fusion, Oracle EBS, and Oracle Financials. Experience in providing support and analysis for large-scale or tier 1 ERP systems. Background in supporting and delivering IT changes and projects. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders, translating business needs into functional and technical solutions. Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Oracle, Azure). Capability to work both collaboratively and independently while prioritizing and managing assigned tasks. Proficient in using IT support tools (Project Management, ITSM, Development, and Deployment).
