Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a temporary opportunity for a Band 6 Physiotherapist within the Intermediate Care team.

We are in search of an enthusiastic and proactive Band 6 Physiotherapist to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Our service is innovative and community-oriented, promoting an integrated approach where district nurses, occupational therapists, and community matrons work collaboratively to provide comprehensive care for individuals utilizing our services.

The selected candidate will have the chance to engage in training alongside nursing and therapy professionals within a large multidisciplinary environment, offering a fulfilling and challenging role.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for conducting clinical assessments and providing physiotherapy interventions to patients in their residences and care facilities.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate flexibility, strong teamwork abilities, and the capacity to perform under pressure. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential for effective interaction with patients, caregivers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Ongoing professional development will be encouraged, and support will be provided for additional training opportunities, including Non-Medical Prescribing.

About NELFT

Probationary Period This position will include a probationary period. Internal candidates may be exempt unless currently undergoing a probationary period or are bank staff.

Onboarding Process NELFT prioritizes a comprehensive onboarding experience for new employees. All new hires will participate in an extensive orientation program that includes mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. New employees will also have opportunities to meet with senior management and participate in various engagement sessions focused on health, wellbeing, and essential processes.

High Cost Area Supplement This position is eligible for a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the base salary, with a minimum of £4,108 and a maximum of £5,177.

The role requires the candidate to travel across the community to visit patients, necessitating a valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognized qualification in Physiotherapy
  • Registration with the Health Professionals Council

Desirable

  • Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc Degree) in a relevant discipline

Knowledge

Essential

  • Proficiency in managing various physical health conditions, including stroke and neuro-rehabilitation

Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 24 months post-registration experience as a Physiotherapist in a relevant clinical environment within the NHS
  • Experience in community adult rehabilitation
  • Background in working within a multidisciplinary or integrated team

Skills

Essential

  • Basic IT proficiency and skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate and legible documentation
