Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Scientist I, you will engage in various technical projects aimed at enhancing our operational efficiency and product quality. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough investigations on diverse technical initiatives, including raw material validation and addressing incidents or corrective actions.
  • Executing smaller-scale projects while adhering to established timelines.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise effective solutions for technical challenges.
  • Planning and managing your workload within project parameters, receiving guidance from Senior Scientists and Supervisors.
  • Simultaneously managing multiple projects and adjusting to shifting priorities.
  • Communicating findings from technical inquiries, interpreting unexpected outcomes, and suggesting further actions to resolve issues.
  • Preparing comprehensive technical documentation to support the resolution of incidents and change control processes.
  • Focusing on practical applications within the role.
  • Performing both laboratory tasks and project management responsibilities.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess a degree or equivalent qualification in microbiology or a related field, although this is not mandatory. A background of 0-2 years in a microbiology laboratory setting is preferred.

Experience with Oxoid products as an end user is advantageous but not required. The role involves handling class 2 (and potentially class 3, based on vaccination status) microorganisms and hazardous materials safely, in accordance with departmental and corporate safety protocols.
