About This Role

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to join our specialized Homeless Mental Health Team. This fixed-term position offers the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health challenges within the city of Manchester.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide community-based support and assessments to clients facing complex mental health and substance misuse issues, collaborating closely with existing mental health and addiction services.
  • Work as an integral part of the Manchester Homeless Mental Health Team, partnering with council staff, drug and alcohol specialists, law enforcement, and homeless outreach workers to deliver essential mental health support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of mental health needs for homeless individuals who are not currently engaged with mainstream mental health services.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance mental health support for homeless individuals within Greater Manchester.
